SCARA robot 4 DOF Our SCARA robots can be used individually and flexibly. It has four degrees of freedom and can be equipped with or without a control system. The SCARA can be used for applications with a precision requirement of 0.5mm and a load of up to 2kg. This type of robot is typically used for cycle times of > 30 picks/minute. The appropriate
igus Robot Control software can be downloaded in advance free of charge and is optionally available as a version with a control system in the control cabinet or as a top-hat (DIN) rail version. Our SCARA robots are mainly made of our tribologically optimised plastics and allow for high cost savings. At the same time, a long service life and maintenance-free operation are realised.

Robot control system for an easy entry into automationThe SCARA is compatible with the igus Robot Control, which enables simple and intuitive robot control and programming and thus ensures an
easy entry into automation.
The free and licence-free igus Robot Control software is integrated into the control system and therefore uses a uniform operating concept and consistent communication services for many components of a system. This means
less project planning and
faster commissioning.
The igus Robot Control is not a component of the part and can be purchased from us as an option. A master control system is not necessary.
If you want to use your own (robot) control system, this is also possible.
Alternatively, it is also possible to operate each axis individually with a control system. For example with our igus D1 dryve motor control system. With this control architecture, you need one motor control system per linear axis or motor and an additional master control system that controls the coordination of the movement. You must then also program the inverse kinematics for the delta robot yourself in your development environment.
The motor control systems are not a component of the part and can be purchased from us as an option. A master control system is not currently offered by igus.
