iglidur plain bearing on the butterfly valve: quickly mounted and securely fastened

With large nominal widths or high process pressures, considerable forces can act on the axis of disc valves. This can increase the forces required to actuate the disc valve and cause the axis to wear out more quickly. To solve this problem, some manufacturers use standard plastic bushings on the axis. However, the bearings are pushed loosely onto the shafts and easily fall off during installation and maintenance of the disc valves. If a missing plain bearing is only noticed during operation due to a leaking valve, this causes considerable disruption to operation.

The developers at Nocado have solved the problem with special iglidur ® G plain bearings. Equipped with a slot and a spring, they engage quickly and without tools on the shaft ends of the disc, which are provided with a groove. This means that a third hand is no longer required to secure the bearing from falling out during assembly or maintenance of the disc valves. The iglidur® G material is an all-rounder that has a very good coefficient of friction, is resistant to edge pressure and is particularly suitable for swivelling and rotation applications.
